Intelligence Is A Popcorn Action Spy Show

Tuesday night I got to watch the pilot episode of Intelligence on CBS. This was one of the mid-season shows I’ve been waiting to start and now that it is here, I enjoyed it. It reminded me of the classic The Six Million Dollar Man show from back in the 1970s. Although the main character in this new show doesn’t have super human strength, one of the plot lines is the guy dealing with the technology he has in his brain. You should check it out if you can.

We are a month into the new television season and it’s going about how I expected it. Some of the shows I didn’t care for I didn’t like and some got canceled right away and the ones I thought I would like, I did. There were a couple of new shows that I feel broke out from the crowd and one still to be seen.

Two Fox Comedies Debuted. One Is Better Than The Other

Logo for the FOX NetworkTuesday night had the premiere of two new comedies on FOX. ‘Dads’ and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ won’t the set the TV world on fire but in my view they weren’t terrible. It is tough to judge a new show based only on the first episode, but I thought Brooklyn Nine-Nine was slightly better. I do think both shows have promise.

For The Fall, The CW Is An Afterthought And So Are The Shows

Posted on by

created image with The CW logo and the words Fall TV PreviewA couple of weeks ago I gave a run down of the new TV shows coming in the fall. I noticed I didn’t go over the shows on The CW. The main reason is I rarely watch The CW. I did check out previews of the new shows and I couldn’t help but notice they all seemed to be either clones of Vampire Diaries or generic soap operas with a gimmick. If The CW doesn’t want to challenge viewers then why waste time watching their shows.

CBS Keeps It Up For The Upcoming Fall TV Season

created image with the words CBS Fall TV PreviewCBS, aka The Tiffany Network, didn’t have much to fix with it’s 2013-2014 TV schedule. It plans on expanding their comedy programing on Thursday nights by moving “Person of Interest” to Tuesday night after the NCIS shows. Like the other networks, CBS seems to have a couple of dramas that are movie concepts put into a weekly series format. The comedies I liked were The Millers, Mom, and The Crazy Ones. On the drama side the only one that interested me was “Intelligence”.

ABC’s 2013 Upfront Least Interesting So Far

Posted on by

created graphic for ABC Fall TV PreviewI wasn’t that enthused with the many new shows ABC presented at their upfront presentation on Tuesday. Most of them were high concept low sustainability which means they would work as a movie or limited series but I don’t see them getting past the novelty. The only shows that interested me were Back in the Game, The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, and Killer Women. ABC’s slate is the least interesting to me of the three networks I’ve reviewed so far.

FOX Slate Of New Shows Look Pretty Good

Posted on by

created image with words FOX Fall TV PreviewOn Monday, FOX presented its schedule for the 2013-2014 TV season and I thought overall their slate was better than what NBC presented on Sunday. The best one to me is ‘Almost Human’ with Karl Urban. I also thought all the new comedies were funny especially Brooklyn Nine-Nine with Andy Samburg. It will be interesting if these shows last the season but I think there is some potential.

With A Cleared Deck, NBC Announces New Shows For 2013-2014

created image for NBC Fall TV PreviewThis week starts the TV Network Upfronts where the network’s new season schedule is announced. We find out what the new shows are and where veteran shows will be shown during the week. On Sunday it was NBC’s turn to present it’s schedule. I got to view some clips from the new shows, and except for one or two, they didn’t look encouraging.
