“Could it Be Magic” is still a gorgeous song

{EAV_BLOG_VER:7030d3d8c01c011c}I admit, I was raised on AM Radio back when AM was cool. One of the first albums I remember buying was Barry Manilow. I had no idea about his history with Bette Midler and being a jingle writer – I just liked and still like his music. His song, “Could it Be Magic” is probably my favorite – with “Mandy” being a close second. I love the combination of classical music and pop lyrics and hooks. This song is just gorgeous.

Barry Manilow – Could It Be Magic (1975)

The song includes the melody from Frédéric Chopin’s Prelude in C Minor, Opus 28, Number 20 and when I hear the song it gives me goose bumps just like The Beatles “Hey Jude” and CCR’s version of “I Heard It Through The Grapevine”. It also reminds me of the good times in the mid 70’s – but that is another story.
